5.0 of 5 stars Works ATI Eyefinity Perfect!, January 13, 2010
This review is from: Accell UltraAV B087B-002B DisplayPort/DVI-D Dual-Link Adapter (Black) (Electronics)
I bought this adapter to convert my third monitor to read the paper being a DisplayPort monitor for Eyefinity,.. and delay pills work as intended.
I am running two HD 5870's in crossfire.
As most realise that have brought the revolutionary ATI 5000 series card it entails three different signals to produce Eyefinity work its for these reasons 3 DVI/HDMI signals do not are they're able to only handle two which happens to be where Displayport is include that third signal.
Dont believe every BS about NON ACTIVE (DP to DVI) or (DP to VGA) adapters attempting to not spend as much.. to keep it simple they're not going to!
You need this Adapter in making Eyefinity work if all of your currant monitors are DVI/HDMI , nor have a relatively Displayport input.
Only the three monitors will be needing this adapter.
What this adapter does is convert the currant DVI/HDMI monitors right into a Displayport monitor that both Windows and ATI drivers see as one.
You can buy three NEW 21.5" 16:9 DVI/HDMI Monitors with true 1080p @ 1920x1080rez all this adapter for starters individuals, have an identical quailty and pay less then what ONE Displayport monitor cost new.
For every person individuals having complaints about this ACTIVE adapter blinking off and on or residing in sleep mode, you might need to make certain under POWER Management you will have USB selective suspend setting disabled. Truly the only issues I have had is the same as people that have set-ups with Displayport monitors and thats some flickering on the bottom within the screens and that of which because of Drivers,... NOT this adapter.
More then likely this problem can be ironed out with additional mature Drivers. Let's hope this info helps many!
